I've just uploaded a new developer's release of Marpa::R2 <https://metacpan.org/release/JKEGL/Marpa-R2-2.087_002>. Marpa::R2 2.087_002 is a release candidate. From an external point of view, there is little change.

The main difference is that Libmarpa has been moved into a separate repository. However, because the CPAN infrastructure does not understand non-Perl dependencies, Marpa::R2 is bundled with a Libmarpa distribution, which by default it builds as a static library and links into the XS module. But all the development infrastructure for Libmarpa has been moved out of the Marpa::R2 distributions, into Libmarpa's own repository.

For the adventurous, it is now possible to build Marpa::R2 to link to a separate Libmarpa library -- either shared or static. This is of interest, for example, to re-packagers. For more, look at the INSTALL documents at the top of the two repositories, and follow the relevant references. (The immediate motive for this change is to help the Debian packagers.)

A note to those who have been working on Win32 shared libraries for Marpa: Since I have no way to test the building of Win32 libraries, and the build process has been thoroughly refactored, the instructions on how to build shared libraries with Win32 are now almost certainly wrong. I still distribute these instructions with Libmarpa, but for the time being I've added a note that they are outdated.

The first wave of CPANtesters tests looks good -- your tests are appreciated!

Thanks, jeffrey
