0.5 can be run on any version of Apache or Apache 2, and with or without
any compatible version of mod_perl. It does not perform version checks
on required Perl modules and we have had no trouble using the latest
versions from CPAN.

cheers,
Richard

Hi there,

We've just done a fresh install of Mart-web 0.4 for our production
biomart (coming soon) and our sysadmin pointed out some rather aging
dependencies that 0.4 has, below are his observations on what he had to install to get things working vs what is the state of the art for these
various applications/modules, etc

Prerequisite    Current/stable  Biomart version
--------------------------------------------------------------
Apache Web Server       2.2.3   1.3.33 (1.3.37)
Mod_perl        2.0.2   1.29
XML::Simple     2.16    2.13
Spreadsheet::WriteExcel 2.17    2.11
OLE::Storage_Lite       0.14    0.14
HTML::Template  2.8     2.6
Mail::Mailer (Mailtools)        1.74    1.67
IO::String      1.08    1.06
DBI     1.52    (not specified)
DBD::Oracle             (not specified)

Clearly this is version 0.4 and we're eagerly anticipating 0.5. I was
wondering how 0.5 fares with being able use more recent versions of
these packages, of particular concern were Apache 2 and mod_perl.

Simon.
