Subject: Major Downtime March 7th 4pm - March 8th 6pm
Dear Users,
Note, that the timing has changed (downtime shorter than announced
earlier)!
There will be major disruption to the EBI IT infrastructure on March
7th-8th. This is due to a combination of Data Center electrical work
and storage migrations (they were planned to be done earlier this
year, but were postponed). During this period we will provide a
temporary read only ftp service and static web service, but not much
more (machines like the alphaservers that are in the EBI building
will be available). Please note that the operation involves the
Sanger Institute and external contractors, so the timing cannot be
changed.
The downtime should start on Friday 7th at 4pm. We will do our best
to have the services back to normal as soon as possible. Current
expectation is at 6pm on March 8th.
