Comrades,
hi... I recently read that Helen Keller was a member of the American
Socialist Party and campaigned and spoke on their behalf quite regularly.
This fact about her life is one that is rarely mentioned (I had heard once
before she was an admirer of Marx's but prior to the small article I read
recently this was the only mention I had ever heard about her in relation
to socialism).
Does anyone know where I could find out any info on her involvement in the
American Socialist Party etc?? Most internet sites speak of her
humanitarian work in relation to women, workers and minorities and her
stand against WW1, but no mention is made of her being a socialist.

Ps - in the same article, I read that Alexandra Kollantai had been
nominated for a Noble Peace Prize (in the 1940's, I think)... does anyone
know anything about this?
