George: I dont know whether there is much point even replying to Hughs stuff in this
posting. Christmas is a bourgeois holiday. It is designed to serve the interests of
capitalism on a variety of different levels --do you not even understand this.
Getting drunks is just what capitalism likes.

r marginalism
from the masses, they're welcome. But the masses as is will be celebrating
the festivals as are, and enjoying an excuse to get drunk and be over the
top. Orgies of various kinds are also part of human social life. Ecstasy is
a human right. And if capitalism stops us enjoying ecstasy, let's make a
society where it assumes its true place of honour! (I get so pissed off at
the cold passionless fish in the films who can't even fake lust, desire and
sexual excitement!)

PS If George wants to really try being a Commie somewhere where it's hard
and painful, he could try going to, say, Afghanistan or Iran and preaching
on a soapbox till they take him away...
But let's not be flippant. If George gives specifics about these many "so
called communists" of his, maybe we could get somewhere in a discussion of
conditions for revolutionary work.
