A newly born baby was found dead in a field behind an housing estate in Ireland just
some
days ago. It looks as if the baby was in perfect health and that it was simply left to
die.

As I understand it is not too uncommon to hear of new born babies being left to die or
even killed by the mother and in some cases with the help of another person.

Yet to my knowledge there has never been a trial let alone conviction for the murder or
manslaughter of these children. In Ireland it is hardly even discussed. The entire
matter
is suppressed and simply explained away, at most, as post-natal blues.

In my view in many of these cases murder has been committed or at the very least
manslaughter. There seems to be something wrong with a judicial system that puts a poor
person away in jail for stealing a tin of cans from a shop and not even having a trial
when a new born baby is killed or left out to die in the cold.
