Ralph Dumain I've put one more chapter and one section of another chapter online:
Science versus Idealism In Defence of Philosophy against Positivism and Pragmatism by Maurice Cornforth 16. Positivism in Sociology and Politics section: Positivism and Sociology http://www.autodidactproject.org/other/cornforth7/SVI-16b.html 19. Features of a Reactionary Philosophy http://www.autodidactproject.org/other/cornforth7/SVI-19.html It's too much work for me to do the whole book, but these are other prime candidates for digitization: 13. Dialectical Materialism 17. "Unified Science" 18. Pragmatism This has been quite an educational experience. I'm gaining further clarification both on the attraction and on the weaknesses of the diamat perspective in this particular era. As embarrassed as I get revisiting this tired old subject matter, there are new historical insights to be gained. My perspective is rather different from the @nti-dialectics web site, but something more has to be said about where diamat went wrong as a constructive philosophy, and to what extent it was effective or clumsy as a critical tool combatting the multitudinous obfuscations of bourgeois philosophy. I have a detailed critique in mind. More to come. ^^^^^^ CB: Thanks for this work, Ralph. Do you plan on posting the chapter on Wittgenstein ? _______________________________________________ Marxism-Thaxis mailing list [email protected] To change your options or unsubscribe go to: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/listinfo/marxism-thaxis
