I'm with Charles and Joe on this one.
Speaking of "a backward and distrustful bunch of hillbillies as one is
likely to encounter," I'm reading "The Long March" by Sun Shuyun, and if
this account is accurate (as opposed to Jung/Halliday-style fiction), the
post-1927, rural-based CCP sure fits that bill, with all the
slasher-movie-scale violence that comes with it.
Anyone else read it?
