Following up on George's post, I just wanted to remind everyone that the special issue on The Roots of Mass Incarceration is now available online for free and in full (for a limited time), via this website: http://www.tandfonline.com/toc/csad20/28/3#.VPuIvEKJlSU You should be able to download all the articles in the issue there. It's really an important issue, I think. Almost ideal for reading groups and for deepening the consciousness of students engaged in the anti-racist upsurge. -Joe On Sat, Mar 7, 2015 at 4:33 PM, George Snedeker <george.snede...@verizon.net > wrote: > > > > > The journal Socialism and Democracy presents > > its special issue on Mass Incarceration, > > edited by Mumia Abu-Jamal & Johanna Fernández > > > > > > Nothing to Lose But Our Chains: > > > > Black Resistance and the Roots of Mass Incarceration > > > > > > Speakers > > > > Sekuo Odinga, Recently Released Political Prisoner > > > > Asha Ransby-Sporn, Black Youth Project 100 > > > > Laura Whitehorn, Former Political Prisoner > > > > Nyle Fort, Newark-Based Youth Organizer & Writer > > > > déqui kioni-sadiki, Educator & Activist > > > > > > > > Friday March 20, 2015 > > > > Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center > > 3940 Broadway at 165th Street > > > > Reception & Journal Signing 6-7PM > > Panel Discussion begins promptly at 7PM > > > > _______________________________________________ > MLG-ICS mailing list > mlg-...@lists.andrew.cmu.edu > https://lists.andrew.cmu.edu/mailman/listinfo/mlg-ics > _________________________________________________________ Full posting guidelines at: http://www.marxmail.org/sub.htm Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
