That last paragraph says everything about why I don't care much for Ehrenreich
or her writing. Also, it is ridiculous to say that only the rich can write
about poverty. Plus the key is to write for the poor, the general working
class, and the like, not about them. And find ways to teach workers or connect
to them one way or another. And to consider yourself a worker too.
Maybe someone can enlighten me, but her Wikipedia entry says her dad was a
copper miner in Butte, Montana. But then it says he went on to university in
Montana and then to Carnegie Mellon University, and later became a top official
of Gillette Corporation. This just doesn't jive.
