NZ capital largely escaped the GFC, but growth has been sluggish ever since the 'new right' revolution from the mid 80s to mid 90s. The NZ ruling class has moved on from 'new right' (or neo-liberal) economics, but haven't really found a big new idea. Pragmatism rules and NZ capitalism continues to bounce along the bottom.
