The defeat of Anita Alvarez in the Democratic primary is huge, given her backing of killer cops and related sins. On the other hand this article quotes the call by some in the movement in Chicago for votes for Alvarez's opponents in the primary: https://www.colorlines.com/articles/watch-young-activists-disrupt-anita-alvarez-fundraiser-say-byeanita It's one thing for a politician to be forced out of office by mass pressure - which was the case here as the Party dumped Alvarez for fear of the growing tide of revolt (including against Emanuel).
