This does not end here. The Blairites are the enemies of the blood of the Left. The Right bungled the coup because they underestimated Corbyn's strength of will. They could humiliate him in the Party Room and that they did. But in the streets, thousands support him. So when Corbyn did not resign, the Right had to put up or shut up. That they have done with a bad grace. Heckling Corbyn though while he gave his speech on the Chilcot Report was a very bad look. The Right's base is in the media and they are hated by the rank and file party members. The Blairites stand for "Responsibility" which is defined by the ruling class through the media. Corbyn stands for the dialectical opposite "Responsiveness" as defined by the members. So the Blairites have failed to kill the Prince. If Corbyn were a Lorenzo de Medici, the likes of Johnson, Eagle, Benn and Hunt would be hunted out of the party. Unfortunately, Corbyn's is the soft approach, so the conspirators will not suffer the fate of the Pazzi family. But I suspect that the membership may not be so forgiving and may want to settle some scores. We may yet something of a purge. The weakness of the Right is that their program is at the best cooperation with a lighter version of Austerity. The *zeitgeist* is against them. By contrast the Corbynites have cobbled together a program which promises relief from the hell of neoliberalism. that and the threats against Corbyn have brought tens of thousands flocking into the Labour Party.
