It is my recollection that post 1989, as contacts developed between women in
the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and "Western" feminists, there was a
rejection of feminism by many women in post-Stalinst societies. This was a
source of friction between them and "Western" feminists.
So this new development is all the more striking.
