It's curious that the Democrats are still incapable of any serious response beyond the purely cosmetic. For years, they have cheered the worsening of the Republican Party because this makes it increasingly easy for them to win without even bothering to formulate hollow promises for their base. And, of course, there have always been plenty of "radical" enablers of this process. But serious radicals can't wait for Democrats or their apologists.
