Hi all, There are a number of nationwide protests taking place tonight as Trump has replaced Jeff Sessions with Matthew Whitaker, who is a Trump loyalist who likely will not recuse himself from the FBI investigation into Trump's alleged Russia-related crimes. I am honestly a bit confused and was wondering what others think about this. Isn't it the case that regardless of what the Mueller probe uncovers, it would require a 2/3 majority in the Senate to actually convict Trump and force him to resign? In which case, what practical value does the Mueller probe serve, and why is it so important that it continue if it cannot guarantee Trump's resignation even if damning evidence of impeachable offenses is uncovered?
