Maybe the reviewer didn't really understand the title. The book was not about what "a post-Putin landscape might look like". Instead, it was about trying to understand the continuity between Yeltsin and Putin from the perspective of political economy rather than the typical Sunday NY Times Review section that a Nicholas Kristof might have written.
