Indian election process is on the way and next month onwards, about 1 billion voters will choose the next government. Pre-poll surveys predict that Modi is fast losing ground and a united opposition might gain more seats than Modi's BJP. But there is every possibility that BJP and its parent fascist organization RSS might be having some more tricks up their sleeve. They hoped that the tensions with Pakistan might work in their favor to play the card of patriotism and Hindu nationalism, by targeting Muslims. But the border had cooled down, what with US, Russia and China indicating to both Pakistan and India that they are against war between two nuclear nations.The new face of Indian Left, Kanhaiya Kumar is fast emerging as a popular figure. He is largely expected to win a seat to the Indian Parliament. He was a student leader, who was arrested in 2016 on charges of sedition, but the Delhi High Court and given him reprieve. Recently, in an interview by a leading Indian News Channel NDTV, on "why communists resort to violence", he gave a brilliant answer."A cow or a goat never attacks a tiger. The rich feel that it is their natural right to use violence against the poor every day, but when the oppression becomes unbearable, the poor have no alternative but to revolt.
