Dear Friends You have gotten a fair share of messages from us this year looking for dollars. You probably still have a recent newsletter with one such appeal. But today we want to talk to you about an extremely special group of people who need your support. Yesterday Holly Stein, an activist and teacher protesting with the Providence-based FANG Collective, began serving a 10 day jail sentence in Bristol County House of Corrections for blockading the jail's entrance over its coordination with and support of ICE detentions and deportations. Stein was one of several participants in an action last year being charged with criminal action for participating in the FANG Collective's Shut Down ICE campaign. These are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-led activists and organizers who are putting their lives on the line to oppose the xenophobic terrorism of ICE in New England.You can read Andrew's coverage by clicking here to learn more about the stakes.
