Pete Seeger memorialized the events with a song "The Battle of Maxton
Field" ---

Oh have you seen the bedsheet boys, the terrors of the night
They rallied here at Maxton, just honing for a fight
Rally round you Klansmen bold, but do not show your face
We'll burn the fiery cross tonight, and save the nordic race

CHORUS:
 ....
Oh the Klan, Oh the Klan
It calls on every red blood fighting man
If you are free and white and bigot and get your courage from a spigot
They are needing reinforcements now, to fight the In-die-an ...

THERE ARE FOUR OTHER VERSES BUT YOU CAN FIND THEM ON LINE SO I WON'T RETYPE
THEM ...it's a cool song!
Unfortunately, Greensboro proved the Klan more than just a bunch of
scared idiots as they massacred a group of Communist Workers Party
activists and got away with it (the jury hated "commies" more than Nazis
and Klansmen)
