there are now suspicions that the jetliner that crashed outside Tehran was shot down. That's what I wondered all along. Given that the plane crash happened a few hours after Iran had launched the missiles at the Iraqi bases, I'm sure that the entire Iranian defense force was on the highest level of alert. It seems to me to be entirely possible that somebody along the chain of command mistook that plane for a US counter attack plane and ordered it shot down. If that turns out to be the case, then this will give new life to the mass protest movement in Iran.
