Interesting. In my CounterPunch article yesterday, I alluded to my grandfather Louis Proyect being the president of the Workman's Circle in Woodridge, NY, where I grew up. This was a mutual aid organization intended to help out vulnerable Jewish immigrants. It's entirely possible that this pandemic might create the need for this kind of work today as this article points out. Look for part two as well.
