On April 8th, Bernie Sanders suspended his primary campaign. In his
speech, you’ll find many excellent points about social inequality in the
USA and the need to confront the billionaires who maintain a
stranglehold on the system.
Toward the end of the speech, however, you’ll find this false note:
I also look forward to working with Secretary Clinton to transform the
Democratic Party so that it becomes a party of working people and young
people, and not just wealthy campaign contributors: a party that has the
courage to take on Wall Street, the pharmaceutical industry, the fossil
fuel industry and the other powerful special interests that dominate our
political and economic life.
I rubbed my eyes in disbelief. The Obama/Clinton/Pelosi/Biden machine
did everything in its power to undermine the Sanders campaign and now he
expects Hillary Clinton to help transform the DP into a party of working
people? Are you fucking kidding me, as Jimmy Dore might say?
