The movement in education against the cut backs imposed on K-12 and
higher education is coming to a head. As the politicians scramble to
co-opt, ignore and oppose this upcoming day of action in March, the
campus centered mass movement is building.

There are now March 4th day of action committees at ever UC and CSU
campus in the state and at least half the 100 community colleges as
well. More public sector and education unions are discussion how they
will participate (walkouts, strikes, teach ins, teach outs, occupations,
marches, etc). The movement is snow balling.

The State Board of Regents, the governing body for the UC system
announced "support" for the mobilizations so as to be able to exert a
'calming' influence on events and steer students toward lobbying instead
of mass actions and walkouts.
