Nestor asks how could the bloody record of the truly national bourgeoisie in Colombia be used as a justification for imperialism; be used as a preference for imperialism? And Nestor thinks those are the real questions because he said that a true national bourgeois or military, one that wishes to keep exploitation all in the "family," is preferable to imperialism. Well, Nestor should read the posts again because while he made his claim about preferability of a so-called national bourgeoisie, and for supporting that class, nobody, certainly not I, made any claim preferring, or supporting imperialism That "support for imperialism" is the slander Nestor spews at those who don't support his endorsement of a national bourgeoisie with a purely mythical "national capitalism.". What Nestor did claim is that such national capitalism would command respect and support from the workers, and that the workers would demand leftist also offer support, upon pain of ass-kicking. Anthony responded by pointing out how the bourgeoisie in Colombia had attempted just such domestic monopolization of exploitation and how that program DID NOT win the support of the workers. Anthony goes on and records how the so-called national bourgeoisie became, and easily, the comprador bourgeoisie. Nobody "prefers" imperialism except for the very same "national bourgeoisie" that Nestor finds itself so worthy of support; that is itself so linked to imperialism by something much thicker than blood-- by property. ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: [email protected] Set your options at: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
