Namaste Bhaskar ! Shukriya tumhare email ke lie ! To, mera dost, your posting on the French regional elections was quite interesting. The percentages you give our slightly different from mine, because of course, I quoted those from my home region and not from the whole of France. Nevertheless, they are quite similar in most respects (only with regards to the Greens showing do they slightly disagree). In your article, you seem to favour the fortunes of the NPA but then point out that some will "jump ship" as you put it and form local coalitions with the "Left Party". This is exactly what is going on. I see this as a class thing. Among the French intelligentsia the NPA wields a certain degree of influence. But not among industrial workers and the unemployed. The NPA electorate tends to consist of civil servants and highly qualified workers. Of course, the NPA exerts much more influence than is shown in polls through its massive presence within the higher echelons of trade-union bureaucracy. Which is why I keep clashing with the NPA and do not care for their "building the Party" approach to the class struggle. ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: [email protected] Set your options at: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
