Picking a movie one hasen't seen...reminds me of Norman Mailer's swan song as a regular columnist for the Village Voice. He reviewed a movie he hadn't seen, admitted it in his review and got a response from readers who were rather appalled. He recounts this in "Advertisements for Myself," I believe. But I generally have to agree with his approach which is consistent with so much modern political communication.
