Yeah isn't that despicable. I was living in Kodiak, Alaska in 1989 and worked on the clean-up of the Exxon Valdez oil spill for awhile. That stuff, heavy crude, was nasty, like axle grease. I really fear for what's gonna happen when that shit hits shore. The entire salmon fishery was shut down that year as a result while Exxon and Veco (ya know, that outfit run by Bill Allen, the star witness against Ted Stevens) ran rampant with their private police everywhere. After the spill we had visits back and forth between the "oiled mayors" of Normandy representing communities effected by the 1978 Amoco Cadiz disaster. Now I guess it'll be Alaskans turn to head to the gulf to link up with folks there. There's this show Treme right now on HBO about folks recovering from Katrina. Like that's already outdated.
