Is there any good Marxist/left analysis of the rise of the "far right" in Europe (and the world)? I think some of the issues have been touched on with the Tea Party discussion here, primarily its class makeup etc. But if the tea party thing in the US has a petite bourgeoisie or upper middle class make up (with Republican party ties), the same cant be said of something like the BNP if supported by a male working class whose voting habits we should be able to explain. Across the rest of Europe, is this petite bourgeoisie “fascism”, protest voting, a broader consequence of stagnation and neo-liberalism? many thanks ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: [email protected] Set your options at: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
