As I recall, Noam Chomsky has something of a soft spot for those Old Right isolationists who opposed the cold war. Back when Ron Radosh published his book on these isolationists, "Prophets on the Right," Chomsky praised the book in terms which made it clear that he admired at least some of these folk. It's also interesting to note that back in the days when Radosh was a Marxist, he was a strong proponent of the formation of an alliance between leftists and libertarians to oppose the imperial state. Radosh, himself, at the time, collaborated closely with the libertarian economist Murray Rothbard in this endeavor. Carl Oglesby was likewise a proponent of such an alliance.
