Reports from the ground put the numbers of protestors in the thousands (plural) this afternoon as New Yorkers made known their anger with the Israeli murders of 20 Free Gaza peace activists this morning. Tomorrow's rally outside the Israeli consulate in midtown promises to be a huge event. Don DeBar Dan wrote: Being against Israel, being against the "American Empire", being against "Financial Capitalism", that is all that is need to become a "Marxist". No further analysis is required. Fred comments: "What makes a Marxist" is an interesting question but if it does not include joining these protests as long as we can still get around at all, then I'm not interested in being one. One problem Marxists do not have today is too much passionate intensity and effort around "single issues."
