Update on the Chinese strike wave that is spreading in auto and beyond
(very inspiring):

Question: what is the Chinese government's attitude toward all this? I
read somewhere (I don't remember where) that it may be quietly
green-lighting the strikes as a backdoor means to increase domestic
buying power. Has anyone heard anything similar? It's not unheard of
-- FDR had a similar rationale for supporting US unions. But I would
assume that the Chinese government would be frightened over the
prospect of the emergence of a mass, militant, independent worker
revolt.
