My comments are/were not intended to "race-bait" anyone. Believe me, brother
Dennis, that if I believe someone is demonstrating a racist perspective, you'll
know it. The concern I presented was on the problem of sectarianism, which
seems all too rampant. It's really not my fault that such sectarianism also
seems to include a social bias, at least in my view.

I find it interesting that so much of the discussion on this thread seems to
try to evade the "national" in the national question; as if there is no
difference between the nationalism of the oppressed and the nationalism of the
oppressor. Yes, everyone seems to genuflect to knowing this difference, but it
seems clear (at least to me) that many of you would like to believe that,
because one is "Marxist" he/she is somehow immune to issues of chauvinism
(White or otherwise) and that we can sterilely discuss "national questions" in
some supposed safety where our predilections born of living in this society
ought not to be challenged.

Perhaps the acuteness of my statement simply struck the wrong way to some of
you. Tough. My question was meant simply to illustrate that not all working
people are reflective of the makeup that I believe seems endemic to some of the
contributions being presented here.
Sorry, no, I will not refrain from stating my opinion as I see it. If I see a
perspective that smacks of chauvinistic thinking, I will call it and, if I am
wrong, I will admit it. Demanding me (don't see anyone demanding it of "others"
when their pretensions so obviously show their biases) to "refrain" is not only
unlikely to bear fruit, it only demonstrates (again, at least to me) that there
is a spark in that smoke.

If I remember you correctly, Dennis, I would not take any umbrage at my
statement, but I would also remind you that threatening me to refrain from
making statements you find objectionable, well, like I said, it's not going to
help.
The rest of you, if this perspective is a problem for you, I challenge you to
silence me. It will only show that, in fact, race baiting is indeed alive and
well on Marxmail.
