It would perhaps be educational to look up "the role of force in history"  
versus the politically incorrect concept - from the standpoint of Marxism, 
"the  role of violence." Force is simultaneously a political power and 
economic power. 
 
Violence is not. That is to say violence is not an economic power. 
 
When Marx wrote in Capital "force is the midwife of every society  pregnant 
with the new" he discloses the economic content and meaning of force as  an 
economic power. Engels does the same in "Anti-Durhing," with three  
segments devoted to this issue.
 
When property is done away with social revolution will cease to take place  
based on force - class antagonism.
