Protest against Ruddock's "visas for terrorists" plan While thousands of genuine refugees languish in refugee detention centres in the Australian desert, Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock has approved visas for some 200 members of the terrorist South Lebanese Army (SLA), due to emigrate to Australia in a month's time. For 22 years the South Lebanese Army (SLA) was the Israeli Government's puppet security force in the Lebanese "buffer zone", subjugating the Lebanese Muslims in the region and carrying out attacks against Palestinians living in refugee camps. When the Israeli Army announced it was withdrawing from Lebanon at the end of last year, the SLA retreated across the border with their Israeli masters and are now claiming refugee status. The secret deal to accommodate the terrorists has not been publicly announced in Australia, but was revealed by the media in the Middle East. (The Guardian 07.02.01) The Guardian has joined with the Federation of Australian Muslim Students and Youth in calling on all Australians to write to the Minister for Immigration and protest this decision.
