IN TURKEY THE DEATH FAST RESISTANCE OF POLITICAL AGAINST THE ISOLATION CELLS CONTINUE, SO FAR 28 PEOPLE WERE KILLED BY SECURITY FORCES AND 30 PEOPLE DIED DURING THE DATH FAST AND AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL DID NOT CALL FOR ACTION. THEY WERE JUST SATISFIED WITH A COUPLE OF PRESS RELEASES. WE DEMAND AMNESTY INT. TO LAUNCH A CAMPAIGN FOR THIS ISSUE. PEOPLE ARE DYING THEY SHOULD ACT NOW!" THEIR STATEMENT IS AS FOLLOWS: THE DEATH FAST RESISTANCE CONTINUES IN TURKEY F-TYPE PRISONS ARE ISOLATION PRISONS. THEY MUST BE CLOSED DOWN! 50 DEAD and 30 "LIVING DEAD" The European Union gave their approval to the F-type prisons of Turkey. Amnesty International has been watching while our people are being murdered. The UN Commission to Prevent Torture issued a report and stated that F-type isolation cells are compatible with European standards . They talk about "international standards", what is that? British prisons? French, German or maybe the US? Who can claim that prisoners from these countries live humanely? NONE OF THESE INSTITUTIONS DEFEND THE FREEDOM OF THOUGHT. THEY ARE GUILTY OF BEING THE ACCOMPLICES OF THE MURDEROUS TURKISH STATE. In a country, where hospitals were turned into places of torture, nobody can defend the F-type prisons! It is us who are on the brink of death and pay the price for your confusion about the reality in Turkey! Turkey is not Europe. There is a fascist regime in Turkey and it survives through massacres, torture and oppression. This is the regime Europe's so called "democratic" countries support. This is the same regime that receives the approvals of so called "human rights defenders" The F-type prisons of Turkey serve for destroying the personalities and identities of political prisoners. A human being can only be identified by his or her beliefs. The political prisoners are defending freedom of thought and right of self-defence and are demanding a dignified life. IN OUR COUNTRY THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ARE SPEAKING NOW. THOSE WHO ARE IGNORED AND ARE KEPT QUITE ARE ALREADY DEAD. December 9, 2000: DHKC supporter Cafer Dereli was killed by fascists when they attacked the hunger strike tent in Rotterdam. He was on solidarity hunger strike. December 19, 2000: 28 Political prisoners were massacred in the prisons of Turkey. January 3, 2001: A DHKC guerrilla, Gultekin Koc, self-sacrificed and destroyed a torture centre in Istanbul to protest massacres in prisons and to protect the right of self-defence. March 21, 2001: Death Fast fighter Cengiz Soydas, (DHKP-C trial), fell martyr in the 153rd day of Death Fast March 31, 2001: Death Fast fighter Ahmet Ozdemir, (DHKP-C trial), set himself fire to protest forcible medical intervention in Kandira F-type prison. He is heavily injured. April 7, 2001: Death Fast fighters Adil Kaplan (TKP(ML) trial) and Bulent Coban (DHKP-C trial) fell martyr. April 9, 2001: A relative of political prisoners, Gulsuman Donmez (from TAYAD) fell martyr on her 147th day of solidarity Death Fast. April 10, 2001: Death Fast fighter Fatma Ersoy ( DHKP-C trial) fell martyr. April 11, 2001: Death Fast fighters Nergiz Gulmez (TKP-ML trial) and Tuncay Gurel (TIKB trial) fell martyr.
