At the close of this process, Seminole and African American residents
participated disproportionately in the "Green Corn Rebellion" with which
Oklahoma radicals greeted the U.S. entry into World War I and the
announcement of conscription.

IN turn, what the Socialists did in this regard built upon a long tradition
of treating race this way, going back to and through the multi-racial
Unionism of the Civil War to the core practices of the dispossessed native
peoples themselves.

Kudos to the author, whose future work we should be anticipating.
