What's happening to Julian Assange affects us all, deeply, because without free access to each others' views and information we are toast; but what is happening to him is virtually ignored left and right.
Martin Niemöller's ominous reminder, though well-worn for some, resonates long after the Holocaust and in this darkening period needs stating again:
