No, Marxists should not be. I felt somewhat similar to you long ago, having been raised Catholic. But I never was really a believer, despite being an altar boy and going weekly for half my life, so I didn't have that big of a "break". I've found that people who were really committed and felt really betrayed when it all became clear to them have years of harsh anti-religious views that later mellow, as they should.
