John Reimann, Neoliberalism has always had a strong element of eugenics, towards the sick, the elderly, the disabled, and even the poor to some extent ,if their labor cannot be used to further the capitalist machine. Nothing really new about this. One more reason why neoliberalism ,as practiced by both parties, is basically a far right ideology. Part of Obama's mission was to get people of color to finally accept ,and embrace, neoliberalism. I may be giving Trump ,and his administration, more credit than due ,as far as brain power, but this academic type of neoliberalism may have played a role in Trump's response to COVID-19. Of course elitism, and perpetuating the ruling class is also a big part of neoliberalism ,which is why the ruling class feels entitled to the most advanced medical, and life-extending treatments ,and thechnologies ,that the "peasants" will never see.
