Since when are the "white people" of Europe "Anglo-Saxon"? Or the US either, for that matter. One of the funny things about American "white people" is that most of them are not of English descent, but rather of mixed non-English European descent, having found themselves here with no effective language but English and no effective ethnic identity at all, but rather entirely defined by the constraints of the marketplace. So, "Anglo-Saxon" at a stretch in language, but not ethnically Anglo-Saxon, whatever that may mean. Christianity is a figleaf that fails to cover this nakedness.
To be sure, it's by no means clear how AS the English are either except by language--which rather upsets the racist applecart right at the beginning.
