I found Duncan Foley’s book useful for Marx’s political economy.
Foley’s interpretation of the labor theory of value is debated among
Marxist scholar.

Ernest Mandel’s book Marxist Economic Theory (2 volume) is good,
interesting, but a bit dated and hard to obtain. I’ve not seen an
online copy. But his book, Introduction to Marxist Economic Theory, is
