I was providing some factual information on Lorraine Hansberry and also on MR - responding to a post on Lorraine Hansbury and Monthly Review on this site.
But there is no excuse for MR failure to deal with sexuality and not defending rights. Their homophobia as so much of the U. S. Left in the 20th Century, was shameful. Personally, I was reading MR since the 1960's and went physically to their offices in the 1960's and 1970's, to get their free issues in their office entrance literature rack with being a poor laborer. I appreciated getting ones torn or marked since sought ideas and liked their economic articles, that was very missing in the SWP and other left groups then. Most of the U. S. left groups had the classics works, but not on then current economics faced both in the U. S. and on other nations that they covered and that I learned from.
