I agree -- in a perfect world, there would be a $600 (or more!)
supplemental unemployment check for everyone INDEFINITELY -- (or until the
National Unemployment rate fell below 4%).

But getting $2000 from the government without offsets is a fabulous defeat
for the austerians --- who have dominated policy since Reagan blew the
first big hole in the peacetime federal budget (some may remember that
quaint formulation by George H.W. Bush ---- "we have more will than wallet"
--- which set the tone for the Clinton Surrender to budget balance and gave
the Republicans ammunition to cut off Obama's recovery --- which paved the
way for Trump's victory.

Notice how the Wall Street Journal editorial page HOWLED at Trump's
destruction of the "need to cut the deficit" myth ----

Forcing Republicans to vote up or down on the $2000 is worth it --- It
doesn't stop the Dems from introducing a comprehensive version of the
HEROES ACT once the new Congress is sworn in.
