After a slow and relatively peaceful start on Monday, thousands of Trump supporters came to DC overnight, with the result that today--despite the shutdown of the unofficial Proud Boys headquarters in the Hotel Harrington and Harry's Bar and the arrest of the Proud Boys' nominal leader on a vandalism charge stemming from a action in December--the assembled whoremongers have taken dramatic action with little or no opposition from the authorities.
According to news accounts, the Trumpies have stormed the US Capitol and entered the building, walking freely around Statuary Hall and the Rotunda. The building has for all purposes been occupied. There does not appear to have been any significant opposition by the authorities. No reports of mass arrests. Tear gas fired in Rotunda--electoral college count suspended and both Houses are in recess. Reports of armed confrontations inside the Capitol. A curfew has been declared and a few flashbangs and a little teargas have been set off to cover the naked loins of the police. The National Guard, supposedly called out, are nowhere in evidence yet. The authorities are giving these sacks of shit a free pass here. Contrast this with the violence meted out to BLM. BLM supporters attempting such a thing would have been shot dead without warning and all bystanders arrested and charged with felonies. Armed confrontations are reported inside the Capitol--guns drawn on the House floor. Mitt Romney--yes, I know, but--is reported to have said that this is an insurrection and compared this treasonous terrorist action to a coup in a third-world country. Trump appeared in person to egg this on and probably caused it, though he and that slimy whore Don Jr. have now hypocritically called for "calm." No end to this standoff is in sight since nobody is prepared to take the necessary action to suppress this terrorist violence.
