Having studied Robinson, there's a few things worth pointing out: * He was writing a critique of the CPUSA and Marxism in general, including a few rather scathing lines. * Robinson argued that the historical record demonstrated that racialization was inscribed into to foundations of capitalism that dated back to the Crusades and the equation of the category "heretic" with phenotype, contra what the CPUSA was saying along with most of the Left for a century. * The fact that Gus Hall used to call Malcolm X a fascist makes me think he was basically clueless. * Gil Green admitted Hall was pretty awful, as have many other CP vets * Didn't Hall pull some sociopathic shit with the pensions the party gave people?
