IMO If the Biden government does not regain the legitimacy that has been drained out of the political system for decades, liberal democracy in the US may fail. I think that turnaround is a tall order to say the least. I don't believe the ruling class has the agency to just snap its fingers and make the nightmare go away--and I'd be very curious to know how united the billionaire class actually are on this.
I do think that the match went against the Trumpies yesterday, for which I am grateful. But the smart ones, IMO, never expected the coup to be more than a coup de theatre. They can easily regroup and come back with another tactic that in the long run will lead to much the same place. I don't see the big bugs being seriously prosecuted for anything. I seem to be saying that we can't let go of liberal democracy until we have a mass party that is capable of seizing power. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
