On paper, of course, the Biden relief plan is good old fashioned Keynesian economics --- just as WW II established the value of deficit spending for macro-economic health, the COVID emergency is doing the same --- hopefully the "concerns" that the Deficit Hawks are starting to express will be overwhelmed by necessity ---
Unfortunately, the Republicans (and some "moderate" Democrats) might still hide behind the "too much debt" smokescreen to introduce some austerity into the COVID relief bill --- cuts here and there -- time limits -- amending it "to death" --- there are lots of ways to intervfere -- The PEOPLE have to be overwhelming the phone lines to Congress --- There REALLY is a material difference between the Keynesian perspective that does NOT demonize deficits and the austerity approach which conveniently shows its ugly head when there are real needs for the lower income, working class, poverty stricken members of the population. Even small groups like us can have an influence against the austerians ....
