In January 2018, Turkey invaded Afrin.

In October 2019, Turkey invaded a strip of land in northeastern Syria between
Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn.

Turkey also occupies parts of Iraqi Kurdistan (northern Iraq), and continues
harassing Rojava with small scale attacks, including artillery bombardments,
drone attacks and ground incursions.

Now there are strong indications that Turkey plans further invasions of more
territory in Syria and Iraq.

Turkey's defence minister and chief of general staff recently visited Iraq and
talked to both the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (a
US-backed right-wing regime that collaborates with Turkey against the PKK).

The head of MIT (Turkish military intelligence) has also had discussions with
the Assad regime.

These discussions, as well as Turkish troop movements, point to the likelihood
of a new Turkish offensive.
