That's really remarkable. It's French Theorists, among them Michel Foucault, 
Jacques Derrida, and Jean-François Lyotard, that are at the heart of today's 
woke culture.

It is the French ideas, especially about knowledge and power, which have 
evolved over the course of successive variants of postmodernism’s central 
occupation. In simpler and more actionable and concrete forms, these ideas have 
been incorporated into woke activism and scholarship and into the mainstream 
social conscience -- although he's correct that this has occurred more in the 
English-speaking world than in France itself.

Still, when you point the finger, it always points back at you.
